It is the end of week 8(!!) and so sounds the warnings that the quarter is ending soon. What this also means is that there is little time left to actually implement our senior capstone. Even though there is a lot of pressure with time and getting our functions working with the right look and feel, it has been an amazing experience. The best part of it all is my group. We have different skills and points of view that really give a well rounded approach in accomplishing our design.

For those who are unaware, We - Derek, Nate, Henry and myself - are all developing a social network for trade convention attendees and vendors. High level, we want to bridge the communincation between attendees and vendors before and after events happen. Additionally, we want to facilitate interactions between them by establishing a service for information to flow and manage information such as scheduled events and contacts (via vCard). We christened the service qVENTION for reasons we don’t even know why. We have named our initiative the Tequila Project, much like the Mozilla Group, only cooler. Just kidding. Seriously.
I whipped up a pretty poster that essentially gives you an overall idea of what we are trying to achieve. Pictures seem to do more justice than words sometimes. To all you web developers and graphic designers out there, you have gained new appreciation from me and Henry. Going through .php and .css files is immensely difficult and I salute you. Braving the trenches of layered styles and finding out what the hell you broke is frustrating. Even more so is making the site work on more than one browser. Since we can only pick one with the lack of time, we opted for Firefox/Camino.
At the ending of our capstone presentation June 1st, I’ll post again and do a recap of the past 10 weeks and maybe show off more of the website. Anyways, back to the styling mayhem!
