For those of you who are curious, the iPod Nano is super sweet. I can barely tell it is in my pocket. It’s uber sleek and does the job well. I don’t need the capacity so for me 4GB is plenty. I just need to get a case soon before I scratch it.

Just ordered me a new iPod Nano 4GB Black. I am soo excited. I like it because it uses flash storage technology rather than a mini hard drisk drive. So crashes and falls (I pray won’t happen in the first place) or vigorous movement – like at a gym – then there will be 100% no skipping. I like how it is in black too. Horray! Ships within 1-3 business days and it’s free shipping. So I should expect it hopefully early next week. I also got the work out arm band thing too when I go work out at the IMA.

Go to Apple’s Website now to check it out. By the way, there is a new version of iTunes (5.0) and the Motorola E1, which is the iTunes phone that can hold up to 100 songs and play them back through the stereo sound. Only carrier is Cingular.

I know you all want a Mac’esque UI

I have to admit that Vista or previously dubbed, “Longhorn” looks pretty sweet. I like the update in graphics display thanks to the handy dandy Avalon engine that helps produce some nice GUI (Graphical User Interface) usability. There are also other good moves for Microsoft as they up the ante in security in developing an entirely new design in access control meaning less spyware and other malicious frustrations. My only speculation is how much more does Vista truly add than the previous Windows XP and what the future of Vista looks like with the delay of its new file system – WinFS.

What I like to actually think about is the impact this has on Apple. Mac users and many others have definately been developing a nice relationship over the past few months since the release of OS X 10.4 (Tiger). Tiger is superior to Windows XP in my mind, but Vista is another question. Thus the question really comes from Apples next OS X (10.5 – Leopard). In terms of features and outlook, no on can really say, just speculate on what Apple needs to do to compete with Microsoft in the OS (operating system) war. Both Vista and Leopard will be launch late 2006 so let us wait and see.

I just think it is interesting how many people will believe what they see and accept it as it is without question. Maybe something like this will offer a better angle of speculation next time we flip through magazines or look at billboards.

Truly innovative in design and capabilities. Just check out the software page yourself. Now let’s see if it can go laser sensoring and bluetooth/wireless. I’ll wait until then to pick that up. I’m still waiting for the the new video iPod. All those who are buying iPods should wait. Color mini iPods might be on their way too!

The Mighty Mouse

This weekend has been absolutely spectacular. I’m just happy. You know? Thursday was just a riot. I just had fun kickin’ it with the boys and doing things I won’t do probably next year. Even though people call me fratty and what not, I’m okay with that. I’m justifying my obnoxiousness with the excuse of living through the college experience. That statement alone probably contradicts a lot of what I want to exemplify to others, but it also seems like one of those moments where it just happens that way. Whether that makes any sense at all, it does to me and that’s that.

Back tracking a little, my Friday sucked, but then my manager changed all that. It started off by consuming all of my energy from the repercussions of last night. I was still drunk going to work, but, I still made it though the day. After a days worth of sobering up, I met my manager for my midterm review. I thought okay, it can’t be that bad, I mean, it has only been five weeks, so how much could they actually say? To my surprise.. a LOT. In the best way though, let me tell you. I don’t know if I can maintain my modesty from this point, but the information is just too exciting. Apparently, I am doing exceptionally well. I haven’t talked to my other intern buddies, but the time spent with my manager, I felt like a king! So far I am exceeding all the expectation laid out my my colleagues and mentor. In addition, there are six competencies that are examined through my duration with Safeco. As it turns out, other co-workers and business partners have sent emails to my manager on their own accord to give praise to me. I was shocked! I was so stunned at the feedback that I didn’t know what to say. He continued to say that normally these competencies are left blank for the midterm review, but because of all the responses, that four of the six were filled. Things are definatley looking out with Safeco. Yay~ I do however want to talk to the others and wonder how theirs went. These are all very smart people and I wouldn’t be surprised if all of them had great reviews.

Friday night was beer pong. I didn’t participate because I was still hurting from Thursday night. I did however get to babysit a person and make sure she was okay to go to sleep without throwing up everywhere. Luckily, she kept it all in the toilet. That’s awesome compared to this other girl going at it in out in the hall way garbage can. I hate cleaning that shit mind you. Fortunately for the house, there is a lot to gain than withstand put up with that keeps me here. Saturday though was great. I got a free Green Tea Lemonade courtesy of Starbucks thanks to the Seattle City Lights and the U-Village’s power outage. Twice! Marvelous. Reading in the nice weather, free drinks and just relaxing. Then dinner with the father just made the rest of the night a great finale to my Saturday. I learn a lot from my dad still. Though we have out our differences with perspectives on certain topics, I listen. The points be he brings to the table are ones that I would not have thought of or include. In fact, it is refreshing to hear a side of things that actually make an arguement and an arguement.

Sunday was by far the best day of the weekend. I got to work for the first time at the Banana Republic (BR). More excitingly though was the event afterwork. Jillians for Patrick’s (ex-manager) going away party was sweet! I love my co workers. They are such beautiful people in so many ways. Drinking beer (provided by my BR buddies), playing pool, eating burgers, taking pictures and just having fun. Best times.

Okat well that’s all I can think of right now. I do however want to talk about my experience so far with my summer reading fad. I say fad because that shit will end once school starts. Sigh.

Damn beers… I re-read my post and thought how much of an idiot I must sound with the grammatical errors and typos.

My grandpa was sent to the emergency room because he was feeling dizzy one night when he was heading towards the restroom. Mind you, he is almost 80 years old. He stayed at the hospital overnight just to make sure nothing entirely terrible happens. If something so unfortunate does happen, then he would be in the best place to resolve any such circumstance. The smoke clears and he’s given the green light to go home. My phone rings and its my mom informing me of what just happened. He is currently staying at my uncles place to rest and share a peace of mind with the rest of the family. His presense for all of us is reassuring and ours for him and only comforting. i was stunned when I heard the news and many thoughts flashed through my head. Some nostalgic, others fearful of the future. What is to come and expect, I don’t think anyone is ready for. Last I heard we were all planning to surprise him with an extra special Christmas by throwing a surprise get together of the entire family, including ones from Canada. During that time will mark his 80th birthday. Wow, reaching 80 is what I call a Milestone. I think longevity of life is one of the greater achievements in a person. We are given challenges throughout our life and we overcome them. Our accomplishments are rewarded with an incentive we strive for. What more incentive is there than given the opportunity to see another sun rise, to see your family who continue to unconditionally express joy for your well being, to endure another moments pass and experience it one more step at a time. The endurance is incredible and I will marvel at how this achievement. But signs of age are racing fast and im afraid that the surprise will not come soon enough. I will be ever hopeful and play my hand on a faithful pray because I don’t know what else I can do. All that we can do is just focus more energy in what time we have left with him. This is my motivation to spend the most time I can with my friends. I cant wait on signs of endangerment to realize how much meaning and value I have placed on those individuals that have attributed to the happier moments of my life. It is only fair that I give back to my grand father the care he felt for me.

My sister turns 30 today. Everyone at her work decorated the area with black balloons. You think, why at 30? What will 40 look like?! I thought it was pretty funny. They even put up signs to have people call her and wish her a happy 21st birthday. She does look young, and that is great. Whether looking young or old, she still looks like my sister to me and she will be greatly appreciated. How much she has done thus far could be considered ordinary to some, but in this small world I live it, she is a hero. a sister, a mom and a friend – she’s played her role successfully (for the most part) and that’s awesome. Im proud of her. I wonder if she will read this.

My mentor turned 40 not so long ago. I hope to be like her at 40. Her spirit is such a spectacle to witness. In her own way she bares the expression of a youth still experiencing the world. Everything is exciting and you can laugh at the situation. Even though she has his spirit, she’s not reckless. It’s the subtly that really shows.

Last weekend, as I stated, I worked 18 hours. One of the greater 18 hours I might add. I was so happy to see my co-workers and most importantly, learned a lot about management. I was assigned as a lead for some rooms throughout the store and had to give directions in the assembly of these rooms. Building shelves, racks and organizing the displays of the clothes was a mighty task. My minions were hard at work and I am grateful for their enthusiasm. I think they got to see the obsessive side of Kevin with regards to Banana Republic. In the end, the store opened a day early and it looks magnificent. Please visit so that U-Village will be all glorious and stomp of the rest of the Banana Republics in the area like the little ants they are!

Work has it’s ups and downs. All in all though it has been great meeting so many people and learning a lot about insurance. On top of the stellar time I’ve been having at Safeco, there is a possibility that I could get my foot inside Adobe! I’m crossing my fingures because that would be pretty damn exciting to work there too.

I can’t really say there is much to report at Safeco, the days aren’t repetative and mundane, but not exciting to speak about anything either… its a weird medium. I spent all today listening to podcasts. It’s like reading all the articles I read everyday, but instead I just listen. Recorded radio via Internet is sweet as sweet! There is a lot I could say but that could be 50 different blog entries itself.. so I’ll stick to the, this blog is my online diary where i share all my personal bits of my life for the public realm to read and speculate, type entries.

Yesterday Erwin and I ate at the Ram and ordered the Extreme Husky Stadium Burgers! Basically it’s the one pound burger. It was the size of my face. I didn’t know which angle to attack from! Definately one of those momentous times I’ll talk about in the future, especially with Erwin. I do want to try and take on two. During certain times of the year, if you can finish three of those beasts, fries and all, then you get it for free. The waitress says bouncers have come in and couldn’t do it. I think my odds are good. Don’t you?

My manager gave me a book to read. Called The Art of Innovation – by Tom Kelley and Jonathan Littman. Should be a good read. I got him, and apparently his girlfriend, hooked on Blink. Remember that book? The one I obsessed over for a couple days?! Yeah!

I need to get out more.. my days feel complete but it’s only 4:30pm when I get off work. #*%&)@#(?&!
